Women Entrepreneurs Forum, Georgetown University, Washington, DC

I am honored to have been part of the Women Entrepreneurs Forum (WEF) Conference held in Georgetown University, Washington, DC, from March 29 to March 31. The cutting-edge discussions were not only motivating and inspiring for women but also for men who are our allies. Together, we strive to break stereotypes and empower women to pursue careers in non-traditional space. Thank you Yanire Braña and Maria Fernanda Reyes for the invitation. It was a pleasure to meet my fellow panelist, Marla Bilonick and Hector E Sanchez Barba. Learning from one another and considering different perspectives is crucial. This is how we make progress and move the needle.

STH Annual Hispanic Leadership Summit 2022

Thank you Claudia Romo Edelman, the strategic committee, and sponsors for putting together the 5th Annual Hispanic Leadership Summit at the United Nations in New York city (Dec.7-8). The summit was the best way to finish out the year strong.

Mark L. Madrid (U.S. Small Business Administration) energized all of us with his enthusiasm and message. I enjoyed very much the panel with Beatriz Acevedo, Cid Wilson, Yvette Peña, Maria Teresa Lensing, and Jorge Plasencia. Their perspectives to advance the next generation of leaders generated great follow-up discussions.

Happy spending time with my LBAN peers Maria Fernanda R., Gustavo Suarez, Luis Corrales, Ricardo Tonatiuh Rocha, Euler Torres, Jacqueline Camacho-Ruiz, Marketing/PR Expert, and Frankie Torres.

Annual conference of the American Evaluation Association (AEA)

Thank you American Evaluation Association (AEA #Eval2022) for organizing this year’s annual conference in person. New Orleans, a festive city with their Creole cuisine and diverse culture was the perfect location.

There is no better way to reconnect with colleagues and make new connections than dinner after a day of talks about evaluation theory, research, and practice. Thank you Gavin Reddick (RESEARCH FISH LIMITED) for bringing together the members and some presenters from our TIG “Research, Technology, and Development.”

Thanks Jeffrey Alexander (RTI International), Joshua Schnell (Clarivate), Anand Desai (Clarivate), and Robin Wagner (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute) - Your insightful questions and comments in the sessions strengthened our understanding and inspired everyone to continue improving our methods to measure impacts.

Gert V. Balling, Henrik Barslund Fosse, and Rikke Christensen from Novo Nordisk Foundation - I truely enjoyed your three presentations. I am looking forward to hear updates on the work of the Research on Research Institute (#RoRI - https://lnkd.in/g8pFEQw4) a consortium of research funders, academics and technologists working to champion transformative and translational research on research.

LBAN/Latino Business Action Network

Research shows that entrepreneurs’ mindset and decisions during idea generation, experimentation, and resource acquisition are influenced by their entrepreneurial ecosystem. I am proud to be part of the national ecosystem that LBAN/Latino Business Action Network has built and for their continued support to the alumni of SLEI, the education scaling program (a collaboration between Stanford University Graduate School of Business and LBAN/Latino Business Action Network).

As entrepreneurs, it is important to participate in events that enrich our vision and provide a venue to do business with others and connect us with capital. Thank you Bank of America for sponsoring the L'ATTITUDE New Mainstream Economy New York Business Summit held on August 17, 2022. The summit showcased the contributions of U.S. Latinos across all industries and economic trends specific to NY. The lively panel discussions and data presentations created the right environment to connect with other entrepreneurs and engage in further conversations at the networking reception.
Thank you Jose Minaya, CEO at Nuveen, a TIAA company, for sharing your personal story. I enjoyed the interview with Adriana Vasquez, CEO & co-founder of Lilu, Inc., one of the six Latino-led businesses that received funding from L'ATTITUDE VENTURES (LAT VC). Thank you Gary Acosta, L'ATTITUDE co-founder, and NAHREP - National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals®, co-Founder & CEO for sharing your enthusiasm and information about the 2022 L'ATTITUDE “experience” in San Diego. I look forward to being part of that as well.

2022 Women's Business Summit, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)

Excited to have been in (virtual) attendance at the Women’s Business Summit hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration!
It is encouraging when conversations about leadership turn from hypothetical ideas to actionable steps that leaders can take today. I have always been able to rely on the words and wisdom of Mark L. Madrid for exactly that!
Mark, it was great to see you last night at the LBAN dinner and this morning at the virtual summit’s panel on ‘Building an Equitable Recovery Framework for Women Entrepreneurship’. Your support and commitment to women in business is admirable. The energy and enthusiasm you bring to your work is contagious. Angelique Sina and I are always inspired by your tireless work and your many words of wisdom.
Many thanks to all the panelists who make time regardless of their busy schedules to cultivate and strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit of women.
The event is continuing tomorrow. We hope you can join us and Happy Women’s History Month!

Thank you to all of the inspirational leaders and entrepreneurs in attendance at the LBAN/Latino Business Action Network Alumni Summit this past weekend at Stanford University! It was an honor to attend alongside all of you.
I believe that anyone who meets Dr. Jerry Porras will walk away motivated and committed to the work of entrepreneurship. His belief that a business’s willingness to change will define its success, rings truer today than ever before.
Building communities and sharing insights is what pushes all of us forward into better business. Thank you to Yaeli Merenfeld, Elian Savodivker, Arturo Cazares, Sergio Mankita, MBA, Guillermo Diaz Jr, Manuel Oblitas, and Jorge Garcia for being a part of this community!
